With the continuing warm weather and dry conditions, the risk of wildfires across our countryside is extremely high. 🚒🔥

Dry grass, woodland, heathland, and moorland can catch fire very quickly, and even a small spark can spread rapidly, threatening 🚑 lives, 🏡 homes, 🌳 wildlife, and the environment.

🚨 How You Can Help Prevent Wildfires 🚨

🍔 Only use BBQs in designated areas. Never use disposable BBQs in parks, woodlands, moorlands, or open countryside.

🔥 Do not light campfires near grass, trees, heathland, or dry vegetation.

🚬 Dispose of cigarettes safely. Never throw cigarette ends from vehicles or onto the ground.

🗑️ Take your litter home. Glass bottles and rubbish can increase the risk of fire and harm wildlife.

🚗 Avoid parking on dry grass. Hot exhausts and catalytic converters can easily ignite vegetation.

🎆 🚫 Do not release sky lanterns or use fireworks in rural areas during dry weather.

👀 Stay alert and report any signs of fire immediately. Never assume somebody else has already contacted the emergency services.

✅ Move to a safe location immediately.

📞 Dial 999 and ask for Fire and Rescue Service.

📍 Provide as much detail as possible about the location of the fire.

❌ Do not attempt to tackle large outdoor fires yourself.
